    Media Management, Master of Arts

    Goal of Studies

    The aim of the research-oriented Media Management Master's programme is to acquire in-depth knowledge of issues relating to media, media management and media economics. Studies focus on management and its specific role in the context of Media Culture and Media Art and Design and help students develop the skills necessary to act independently, responsibly, and innovatively based on an interdisciplinary awareness.

    Occupational Fields

    Potential fields of occupation include: management positions in media businesses, marketing, publicity, media consulting, advertising, public relations, media research and media planning, film production and promotion, editing, publishing and the training and communication of media competencies.

    Structure of Studies

    The coursework encompasses four main areas of focus: the three core subject areas of media management, media marketing and media economics and a fourth topic area encompassing media legislation, philosophy, theory, history and sociology. The regular duration for the Media Management Master Studies programme is four semesters. In the fourth semester, students write their master's thesis. After successful completion of the course and thesis, the Faculty of Media awards the qualification of “Master of Arts”.
