Volker Wieprecht & Robert Skuppin

- (c) Jenny Sieboldt (Jenny-Sieboldt.com)
Volker Wieprecht was born in 1963 in Herne, Westphalia, and studied Classical Philology, Philosophy and German Studies. Robert Skuppin, born in 1964, studied Journalism, Political Science and History in Berlin.
In 1988, Skuppin began working for Radio 100 as a news editor. He later moved to SFB to work for Radio 4U. Wieprecht and Skuppin first met in 1991 while they were working for SFB, Skuppin as a production manager, Wieprecht as a children’s radio presenter.
In 1992, Wieprecht moved to the USA to work for one year as a freelance author and radio correspondent. On his return in 1993, he teamed up with Skuppin to work for Radio Fritz, ORB/SFB’s youth station. They both moved to Radio Eins in 1997. Since then they have continued to co-present the news shows Radio Eins-der Tag and Die schöne Woche.
In the words of the Berliner Morgenpost, " Wieprecht goes mercilessly for the jugular, whilst the quieter, more consciously pleasant Skuppin responds casually, but with no less accuracy.“
