Before you leave

To enter and reside in Germany, you will need the following:

• Study visa (Aufenthaltserlaubnis für Studienzwecke)

• Certificate of matriculation from your university at home for the same course of study for which you have applied in Weimar

• Proof of nomination by your university

• Proof of sufficient knowledge of German (at least basic knowledge)

• A “learning agreement” with the necessary official seals and signatures

• Proof of your ability to finance your studies

• Proof of health insurance coverage equivalent to the regular coverage provided to students in Germany

Students applying to the Faculty of Art and Design and for the major of Media Design are asked to send a portfolio of the artistic and graphic works if requested by their respective advisor/lecturer.
