Study Abroad Programme (incoming) Application and admission

The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar allows foreign students to attend courses as part of their study abroad programme for a maximum of two semesters. However, the acquisition of a university degree is not possible.

Requirements:

  • Foreign students are required to enrol in the same course of study for which they are enrolled at their university at home
  • Students must provide proof of German-language proficiency

Student exchange programmes are based on bilateral agreements between the Bauhaus-Universität and partner universities abroad. The Bauhaus-Universität has signed agreements concerning student exchanges with over 130 universities around the world and is a member of European Union’s ERASMUS programme. If you wish to participate in a student exchange programme, you should apply at your university at home. After applying, your university will select and nominate students for the exchange programme.

If you are nominated, you can then apply to the Bauhaus-Universität online. We will send you all the information you need, for example:

  • student residence options
  • matriculation process
  • arriving and directions
  • student orientation week
  • German-language courses
