The possibility that you will be able to support yourself with a typical "student job" is very limited. There are approximately 4500 students at the Bauhaus, and they make up approximately 10 percent of the population. Furthermore, the city has almost no industry; however, there are a large number of cultural institutions and administrative agencies of the Free State of Thuringen. The most favorite jobs of students, for example waiter or waitress, are also very rare, even though the city has a large number of restaurants, cafés and bars.
