Admission requirements at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar

• For undergraduate studies concluding with a Bachelor’s degree or diploma: qualification for admission to institutions of higher education;
• For post-graduate studies concluding with a Master’s degree:
  Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study with a good grade point average;
• Proof of German-language proficiency as required for a course of study and, if necessary, other foreign languages (required levels of language proficiency);
• For certain courses of study, an aptitude assessment examination, aptitude test or restricted admission as mandated by the university (selection process)

German universities often have different admission requirements for applicants from foreign countries. Before applying, please read over the information that applies to your situation in the databank at the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) or the databank at the Foreign Education Centre (www.anabin.de).

Please note: The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar has simplified its admission requirements for foreign students participating in the study abroad programme. (incoming)

Please note:

• Some applicants from certain countries are required to attend a university preparatory programme at a “Studiumkolleg” before being allowed to study in germany. The Studienkolleg Nordhausen provides such university preparation for applicants of the Bauhaus-Universität.
• Foreigners who have qualification for admission to institutions of higher education or have already received a university degree in germany will be treated like Germans (education nationals) by the selection committee.
