africa re:load workshop
Workshop in Weimar 29-30 September 2011
The purpose of the two-day Africa Re:Load workshop was to bring together a selected group of Ethiopian & German partners from the private and public sectors to generate ideas on green economic development, green technologies & innovation in Africa.
Some of the main outcomes:
- The establishment of an online learning platform to facilitate crosscontinental public and private cooperation as well as the exchange of skilled personnel between Ethiopia and Germany (“brain gain”)
- Regional cooperation on low-cost architecture (East Africa and Germany)
- Piloting of different forms of lowcost sustainable buildings and local production plants for green buildingmaterials in Addis Ababa
- “Business Bootcamps” to facilitate exchange and collaboration between young entrepreneurs in Ethiopia and Germany
