ASA-Program
ASA is a developmental policy and continuing education programme maintained by InWEnt gGmbH (fusion of the Carl Duisburg Gesellschaft and the German Foundation for International Development). ASA helps finance work and study visits for students and young professionals in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Services
The funding provided by ASA offers candidates the opportunity to collaborate on selected and endorsed North-South projects which are relevant to their subject of study.
Target countries
Candidates may apply to participate in ASA-endorsed projects in Africa, Asia, Latin America and South Eastern Europe (see the ASA Program catalogue)
Eligibility for participation and application requirements
- Full-time students and graduates who have completed a full degree programme at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
- Age: between 21 and 30 years old
Funding
Funding covers living expenses, travel expenses, insurance coverage and tuition for a language course, if necessary.
Time and length of internship
Internships generally last 3 to 4 months (project commencement/departure between July and September) and include preparatory and evaluatory seminars and a final report.
Self-organised internships
Candidates may only apply for participation in an ASA-endorsed project listed in the ASA Program catalogue.
Application period
Between mid October and January. Please refer to the current ASA Program catalogue for exact dates.
