Completing an internship abroad during and shortly after one's studies is an excellent way to apply theoretical knowledge, make use of professional and social skills, gain in-depth knowledge of foreign countries and regions, and immerse oneself in a foreign language and culture. An internship abroad can greatly increase your chances of success on the labour market.
When planning and preparing for an internship abroad, two problems need to be solved:
- Finding the internship
- Financing the internship
You will rarely find internships suited to your circumstances that are fully financed. Many organisations on the Internet offer internship-finding services at horrendous fees. Therefore, check first with the International Office and the DAAD international internship website for offers and contacts.
