Application
Forms
If downloads are available, fill out the application forms online. Make sure to complete all the application documents on your PC whenever possible, but if not, then use a typewriter (if you can find one!). If you have no alternative but to fill out the application by hand, make sure all entries are written in black ink to allow for multiple copies. Because of the variety of school-leaving documents, it’s important that you write in legible print as it is often difficult, if not impossible, to decipher the handwriting of foreign applicants.
Curriculum vitae (CV)
Every country has its own customs regarding acceptable forms of curricula vitae. Try to conform to these expectations when drawing up and designing your own CV. For example, university admission officers in the United States look for information on CVs that is irrelevant in Europe, such as long journeys, hobbies and summer jobs. For applicants to European universities, the EU Commission has posted sample CVs in several different languages. If a university provides specific guidelines for CVs, then you should naturally follow them.
List of courses
Most foreign universities require some form of grade or course transcript. If the university you are applying to did not send you such a form to fill out, then we recommend using the form we have developed for this purpose.
Courses, for which you received a certificate of participation, should be listed on a separate sheet. These courses cannot not be certified.
If the host university does not require a notarised translation of your transcript, you may translate it yourself and have the examination office certify it.
