Bauhaus Post-Doc Scholarship
The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar has set up the Bauhaus Scholarship to aid outstanding German and foreign Bachelor, Masters and Post Doctoral students, who indicate above average achievements or expect a high qualification for their field of knowledge.
The Bauhaus-Scholarship shall enable excellent postdoctoral scientists to bring their academic career forward by new research projects.
For 12 months innovative ideas, with regards and completion to research main points of the faculties, are granted. The scholarship amounts 1.850,00 € monthly.
A main focus in 2012 is equal opportunities funding for women. For this purpose further resources from the “Professorinnenprogramm des Bundes und der Länder” are available for scholarships for female Postdocs. In 2012 are awarded:
- 1 scholarship for a female or male Postdoc
- 1 scholarship for a female Postdoc
Awarding criteria
An excellent graduation is condition for awarding. With regards to quality and chances of success the decision is made. The Postdoc-project has to show regards to existing research main points of Bauhaus-University Weimar. In addition to that, the project shall enrich these main points by a creative approach.
Scholarship conditions
Additional scholarships may not be granted, when the applicant is already sponsored through other public funds or funds from public establishments.
The grant usually starts on first of April.
Scholarship-holders are expected to give a public academic project presentation, to show engagement in the graduates training and to compose a final report.
Method of selection
Applicants can apply for a position for the Bauhaus Scholarship, by sending in their applications by December 16th, 2011.
The decision for the awarding of the scholarships is carried out by the awarding committee.

- copies of certificates academic degree and promotion,
- project sketch including abstract, research overview, task, methods and selective bibliography (not more than 10 pages),
- detailed work schedule,
- list of references, containing the names of two professors
