The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is situated in the heart of historic Weimar, adjacent to the famous Park on the Ilm. All the buildings on campus are within walking distance. In addition to its world-famous cultural heritage sites, Weimar also has a well-developed infrastructure and offers relatively inexpensive accommodation in art-nouveau period buildings located in a historic setting. Students especially appreciate the familiar, small-town atmosphere which strengthens social bonds and makes it easy to build friendships.
