Professur Raumplanung und RaumforschungProfil  Am Lehrstuhl für Raumplanung und Raumforschung beschäftigen wir uns besonders mit dem spannungs- vollen und widersprüchlichen Verhältnis zwischen den Sphären zweier Wissensgebiete. Die eine Sphäre ist die der realen räumlichen Entwicklung; wir beobachten und analysieren etwa die Veränderungen des Städtebaus und der Siedlungsstruktur ebenso wie die Veränderungen der Raumnutzung in demographischer, ökonomischer und ökologischer Hinsicht. Die andere Sphäre ist von gesellschaftspolitischer Beschaffenheit: Hier geht es um die Versuche, die reale räumliche Entwicklung zu steuern. Die Steuerung kann durch Stadt- und Regionalplanung, durch die bundesdeutsche oder europäische Raumordnungspolitik, aber auch durch andere raumwirksame Instrumente erfolgen, beispielsweise wirtschaftspolitischer oder politisch-administrativer Art. Gegenstand unserer Lehre und Forschung sind hauptsächlich europäische Städte, Regionen und Länder, aber auch lateiname- rikanische Beispiele ergänzen unseren Horizont. Unsere Lehrtätigkeit richtet sich bislang an Studierende - des Master- und Bachelorstudiengangs Architektur und Urbanistik an der Fakultät Architektur - der Europäischen Urbanistik im Master- und im Promotionsstudiengang, ebenfalls an unserer Fakultät, - der Geographie an der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität-Jena, - des Bachelor- und Masterstudiengangs Infrstruktur und Umwelt sowie MBM an der Fakultät Bauingenieurwesen unserer Universität - sowie verwandter postgradualer Studiengänge anderer Universitäten in Europa und auch in Lateinamerika  |

Academic profile  At the department of spatial planning and spatial research we are especially occupied with the complex and controversial relationship between the spheres of two fields of knowledge. One sphere is that of the real spatial development; we observe and analyze the change in urban and territorial structure. As well we examine the change in the use of space for instance in a demographic, economic or ecological dimension. The other sphere is of a rather societal character: It is concerned with the attempt to regulate the existing spatial development.The regulation can hereby be made through the instruments of urban and regional planning, federal or European planning policies or other spatially effective instruments such as economical policies or those of political-administrative character. The focal object of our teaching and research are European cities, regions and countries but our horizon is also widened through examples from Latin America. Our teaching up to now focuses on students of - The program of Architecture und Urbanism at our faculty - The Master and Doctoral program European Urban Studies of our faculty - Geography at the Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena - Research studies at the faculty of civil engineering at the Bauhaus University - And related post gradual studies of other universities for example from Europe and Latin America  |

Perfil académico  En la Cátedra de Planificación e Investigación Espaciales nos preocupamos principalmente de la relación tensa y contradictoria entre las esferas de dos campos del conocimiento. Una de ellas es la del desarrollo del espacio real, es así como observamos y analizamos las transformaciones de las estructuras urbanísticas y territoriales al igual que los cambios del uso del espacio en sus dimensiones demográficas, económicas y ecológicas. La otra esfera es de naturaleza política y trata de los los intentos de dirigir o manejar estas transformaciones reales a diferentes niveles sea a través de la planificación urbana o regional y el ordenamiento territorial o a través de otros instrumentos que se sitúan verbi gracia en el campo de la política económica o del sistema político-administrativo. Nuestro objeto de estudio son sobre todo ciudades, regiones y países europeos, pero también ejemplos de América Latina complementan nuestros horizontes. Nuestra docencia se dirige hasta el momento a estudiantes - de la carrera de arquitectura de nuestra facultad - de las carreras de máster y de doctorado del Instituto de Urbanística Europa, también de nuestra facultad, - de geografía de la Universidad Federico Schiller de Jena, Turingia, - de los cursos de postgrado en la facultad de ingeniería civil de nuestra universidad - así como diferentes carreras de postgrado en universidades extranjeras, tanto europeas como latinomaericanas  |
