Das Bauhaus-Kolloquium ist eine internationale Konferenz, die seit 1976 in Weimar stattfindet. Ziel des interdisziplinären Forums ist es, wesentliche Fragestellungen der zeitgenössischen Architektur zu diskutieren. Das 9. Internationale Bauhaus-Kolloquium wird die Frage untersuchen, ob und wie Architektur als Medium und als Sprache unter den gegenwärtigen kulturellen, sozialen, technologischen und ökonomischen Bedingungen funktioniert. Dabei interessieren uns Architektur als Medium, Architektur in den Medien sowie das Verhältnis von Neuen Medien und Architektur. Die Konferenz wird vier Schwerpunkte untersuchen: An den Vormittagen in Workshops für Nachwuchswissenschaftler und Doktoranden, an den Nachmittagen im Plenum, wofür renommierte Wissenschaftler gewonnen werden konnten.

The Bauhaus-Colloquium is an international conference held in Weimar in regular intervals since 1976. As an interdisciplinary forum, the colloquium sets out to discuss major issues relevant to the contemporary architectural debate. The aim of the conference Medium Architecture in 2003 is to debate. The aim of the conference Medium Architecture in 2003 is to and economic conditions as a medium and as a language. In this context, we are interested in architecture as a medium, in architecture in the media and in the modern technologies and new media as they bear on architectural production. The conference will be held over four days. The afternoon sessions will showcase invited academics of international standing. In the morning sessions younger scholars around PhD level will deliver papers on related topics.
