Introduction of the
Professorship PoWer
The professorship "Polymer Materials" based on the Juniorprofessorship "Polymer binders and building materials
in the building industry - PBB". On 9th of November 2010 the certificate of appointment was handed on.
The Juniorprofessorship "Polymer binders and building materials
in the building industry - PBB" at the faculty civil engineering of
the Bauhaus University Weimaris since the 01.August 2003 in the
structure.This Professorship is a part of the F.A. Finger institute
for building materials science.
Despite the turn on alternative and also regenerating raw
materials polymere binders and building materials are far common in
the building industry. The adequate application of these building
materials themselves, in addition, their complex cooperating with
the other building materials require a ever more special specialized
knowledge due to their contentwise characteristics. This concerns
both the new building and the increasing range of the reorganization
and repair among other things from precast concrete units and
concrete buildings.
Emphasis in the teachings is the lectures "Basis of Polymers"
(course of studies: materials sciences) and "Building materials for
the building protection and the repair of concrete buildings"
(course of studies: civil engineering).
The main point of research lies at present in the treatment of
the subproject B3 "Durability of polymere-modified mortars and
concrete" in the context of the special research range 524
"Materials and constructions for the revitalization of
buildings".This project has a provisional running time to June 2005.
Beside the a advertisement of further funds for the research it is
the goal of being able to continue the work in the subproject B3
beyond this date.
