Review on the last conference

In the congress center neue weimarhalle in Weimar has of 23. until 26 September 2009 the 17. International conference on building materials ibausil taken place. With about 750 scientists and practically active engineers from approximately 40 countries the number of participants exceeded those of the 16. Conference. This large and international number of participants underlines the meaning of the ibausil as important podium of the building material research.

The rector of the Bauhaus university, Professor Dr. Gerd Zimmermann and Professor Dr. Jochen Stark welcomed the participants. In their speeches they stressed the continuously high technical authority and continuity, which distinguish this conference since their existence. Professor Stark spoke in his speech briefly about the history of the conference. He could welcome participants with the conference of this year also, those already with the first ibausil conference thereby 1964 were. This were among other things former professors Gottfried Seidel, Weimar, Udo Ludwig, Aachen and Werner Reichel, Dresden.
